A great performance in cold and difficult conditions at the AJ Bell saw Sale sharks beat group leaders Cardiff Blues convincingly 24-0 to bring them back into contention in this competition.

AJ MacGinty was ruthless with the boot giving Sale a 9-0 lead from penalties conceded by the Blues.

Will Cliff was a competent replacement in the number 9 shirt, giving Faf de Klerk some respite from the exertions of the season. It was Will who was first to react to an excellent George Nott charge down to produce the first try.

Hooked Marc Jones rounded off a great match with Sale's second try in at the corner.
